Gas Metal Arc Welding

One of the most commonly used industrial welding processes, GMAW is often chosen for its ease of use, versatility and high weld quality. Used for steel, stainless steel, aluminum and copper alloys, GMAW is also referred to as Metal Inert Gas (MIG) or Metal Active Gas (MAG). GMAW is an extremely versatile, semi-automatic welding process in which a consumable electrode is fed mechanically which allows for fast, consistent filler metal deposition, resulting in highly repeatable, high quality welds. The higher filler metal deposition rates inherent to GMAW are extremely useful when welding thick sections, repeatable processes and long weld lengths.
