Electrode Holders
Watteredge’s fabricated copper electrode holders are designed with high mechanical strength, excellent cooling and excellent electrical conductivity which make it a top choice when Electric Arc Furance (EAF) equipment replacement is warranted.
Our fabricated EAF electrode holders contain a pipe/coil which is manufactured from either a monel or stainless steel pipe which is then cast into place. This cast-in water passage allows water to be in direct contact with the copper which provides maximum cooling efficiency and longer electrode holder life.

Electrode Holder Repair
In addition to manufacturing new electrode holders, Watteredge has the capability of repairing damaged electrode holders. These repairs include replacing the damaged contact surfaces, replacing the saddles for the bus tubes and replacing yoke assemblies.
Should a holder be out of round, we are able to save the tang of the holder and replace the front of the holder with a rolled plate.
Fabricated Furnace Contact Shoes
Our fabricated copper flat back and round contact shoes are designed with high mechanical strength, excellent cooling and excellent electrical conductivity which make it a top choice when equipment replacement is warranted.
Fabricated electrode contact shoes are constructed from a solid copper plate then are gun drilled rather than constructed with a pipe/coil made from monel or stainless steel pipe for water cooling. This allows for direct contact with the copper contact shoe providing maximum cooling efficiency and longer contact shoe life.
Furnace Contact Shoe Repair
In addition to manufacturing new flat back and round contact shoes, Watteredge has the capability of repairing damaged contact shoes. These repairs include replacing the damaged contact surfaces, repairing the the o-ring grooves, checking the thickness and the flatness of the contact shoe.
